Admission: LPN to RN Bridge Option
Associate Degree Nursing LPN to RN Bridge Option
The LPN to RN Bridge Option offers the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) an opportunity to advance their education with completion of the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program in three semesters (Summer, Fall, Spring). Graduates of the program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) which is required to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).
In addition to the admission requirements for the ADN program, students wishing to apply to the LPN to RN Bridge option must also meet the following requirements:
Students wishing to bridge from the PN to the ADN program must hold an active unencumbered license in the state of North Carolina or a compact state.
A copy of the Certificate of Licensed Verification Report may be electronically sent to registrar@blueridge.edu
Students wishing to bridge from the PN to the ADN program must also possess a minimum of 12 months of full-time work experience as an LPN.
The minimum 12 months of full-time work experience must be completed by February 1, 2026. An official verification letter from the employer on letterhead with a physical signature may be sent electronically to registrar@blueridge.edu.
